2024 Grant Recipients
The City of Healdsburg received a total of twenty-two applications requesting more than $210,000 in funding from the Healdsburg Public Art Grants. The Public Art Grant Selection Committee recommended six projects to City Council. The projects were then presented to City Council on the April 15th meeting where they chose to award to the six recommended projects.
- Lil' Moha - $700 - Lil' Moha Proposal
- Proposed Free Little Art Gallery similar to the popular Little Free Library, but with a focus on small artworks instead of books. The Gallery is proposed to be developed at a private residence at the intersection of East Street and North Street with easy access for public viewing and participation.
- The 222 - $10,000 - The 222 Proposal
- Proposal will continue to underwrite funding for literary and cultural events at The 222, highlighting culture and traditions of indigenous communities in Norther California. The 222 will host a total of five productions in April, September, October, November, and January.
- Your River - $5,000 - Your River Proposal
- Proposal is a visual installation the builds a sense of community around the Russian River and its vital role in Healdsburg, demonstrating how artwork can connect audiences to important ecological issues. Screens will be deployed in public locations around town with live feeds of aspects of the Russian River.
- Infinity Mirror - $2,500 - Infinity Mirror Proposal
- Proposal is a tree-like sculpture installation that will serve as a captivating focal point within the Healdsburg Library, inviting patrons to explore the intersection of art, science, and technology. Its interactive elements would allow visitors to engage with the artwork on multiple levels. Proposal will be installed from May – August.
- Harmon House Temporary Mural - $19,000 - Harmon Guest House Proposal
- Proposal to paint a temporary mural directly on the window façade of the Harmon House located at 227 Healdsburg Ave. Over a six-month timeframe, the mural would allow for the light to transform the artistic image from both within and outside of the hotel, giving viewers a daytime and nighttime experience.
- Ballet Folklórico - $7,300 - Ballet Folkorico Proposal
- Proposal to fund Ballet Folklórico Yolotl to continue the thirty-seven year history of performing Mexican ballet in Healdsburg and neighboring communities. The project is a collaboration between Ballet Yototl, Yolanda Giron, Founder and Director based in Healdsburg, and Latinos Unidos del Condado de Sonoma, a community based non-profit organization founded on December 12th, 1966.
