HEALDSBURG, CA - The City of Healdsburg is excited to announce an upcoming community workshop offering an opportunity to learn more about the SMART Train coming to Healdsburg and provide feedback on the potential locations for the SMART Train Station.
SMART has received grant funding to complete rail and pathway construction from Santa Rosa to Windsor and begin design and construction work from Windsor to Healdsburg. The City now has the opportunity to determine a station location that best meets the needs of the community and future riders.
The location of the station is critical in planning for the expansion of SMART. Potential station location sites include the depot site on Hudson Street as well as a downtown site adjacent to the City Parking lot on Vine Street between North Street and Matheson Street. The decision on where to locate the future SMART station will impact Healdsburg for decades,” stated City Manager Jeff Kay. “Before the City Council takes action, we want to gather as much input as possible, and this workshop is a great opportunity for the community to weigh in.”
The Community Workshop will be held on October 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Healdsburg Senior Center. Key staff from the City and SMART will be in attendance. Join us to provide your important input to assure the location of the SMART station in Healdsburg best fits the needs of the community. Spanish language interpretation will be provided, along with an activity station for kids and light refreshments.
