CLIMATE MOBILIZATION STRATEGY

PRIORITIZATION TOOL

[Español abajo] The City is developing a Climate Mobilization Strategy to guide future efforts to confront climate change. The strategy will focus on identifying key measures and actions that will be most impactful in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, while also being community driven, feasible, and equitable. 

There are well-established methods to reduce GHG emissions, however, how they are implemented in each community is different. This is what we need your help to understand!

Examples of these include:

• Transitioning existing buildings to all-electric appliances and equipment
• Reducing vehicle miles traveled, and the amount of individual driving
• Reducing waste and increasing organic waste diversion from landfills

HERRAMIENTA DE PRIORIZACIÓN

La Ciudad está desarrollando una Estrategia de Movilización Climática para guiar los esfuerzos futuros para enfrentar el cambio climático. La estrategia se centrará en identificar medidas y acciones clave que tendrán un mayor impacto en la reducción de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI), al mismo tiempo que serán impulsadas por la comunidad, factibles y equitativas. 

Existen métodos bien establecidos para reducir las emisiones de GEI, sin embargo, la forma de aplicarlos en cada comunidad es diferente. ¡Necesitamos su ayuda para comprenderlo.

Ejemplos de estos incluyen:

• Transición de edificios existentes a apartos y equipos eléctricos
• Reducir las millas recorridas por vehículos, y la cantidad de conducción individual
• Reducir los desechos y aumentar el desvío de residuos orgánicos de los vertederos
